Religions
Religions, although they offer comfort and community, often lead people away from the true God. Instead of seeking a direct relationship with the divine, many settle for rituals and dogmas that can be manipulated by human leaders. This creates a barrier between humanity and the essence of God, fostering division rather than spiritual unity. Jesus taught that the way to God is through a personal relationship with him, not through human intermediaries or religious institutions. Scripture says: "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). Organized religions often focus on rules and traditions, diverting attention from God's true essence, which is love and grace.
"Blind Leading the Blind."
This phrase, spoken by Jesus in Matthew 15:14, describes how people can be deceived by religious leaders who lack a true connection with God. By following these "blind guides," people distance themselves even further from the truth and from God Himself. Instead of seeking the truth for themselves, they blindly trust those who may be more interested in power and control than in guiding others toward God. This creates a cycle of deception and spiritual separation that can be difficult to break.
One Truth, One Lord, One God
Scripture teaches that there is one truth, one Lord, and one God. In 1 Corinthians 8:6 it says: "Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live". This statement emphasizes the uniqueness of God and the importance of having a direct relationship with him through Jesus Christ. Religions that promote multiple gods or paths to the divine can lead people away from this fundamental truth. Each religion presents its own version of the truth, which can lead to confusion and division among people, rather than fostering unity under one true God.
A Great Responsibility
My brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly (James 3:1), we have a great responsibility in sharing God's truth with others. We must not take lightly the role of spiritual guides, since our words and actions can deeply influence the lives of others. It is crucial that we seek the wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit to ensure that we are transmitting God's truth faithfully and lovingly, without distorting it or manipulating it for our own purposes. In doing so, we can help others draw closer to God rather than push them away.
Conclusion
In conclusion, religions can be an obstacle to a true relationship with God if they focus on rituals, dogmas, and human leaders rather than God's essence, which is love and grace. It is important to seek a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, who is the only way to the Father. When sharing God's truth with others, we must do so with responsibility and love, guided by the Holy Spirit to avoid leading others away from the true path to God.
