The First Inhabitants of the World
According to the sacred scriptures, dinosaurs were the first living beings that inhabited the earth created by God. These beings were gigantic and dominated the planet for millions of years. Genesis 1 states: "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind". And it was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. And we know perfectly well that creation was not made in six days of 24 hours, but each day was cosmic, as Psalm 90:4 says: "A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night".
What Happened to the Dinosaurs?
We must all understand something very well: the first living beings that inhabited the earth were of gigantic sizes, because they had eternity for it. The first beings did not die because Adam had not yet sinned, and therefore death did not exist. Since time was cosmic, beings lived millions of years and, consequently, had time to grow to gigantic sizes. But when Adam sinned, death entered the world; beings lived shorter lives and no longer had the opportunity to grow to such large sizes, so they became extinct.
Methuselah
Methuselah, recognized in the Bible as the longest-lived man, lived 969 years. Without doubt, within the mortal condition, he was the human being who achieved the greatest recorded lifespan. However, unlike Adam, his longevity was limited by mortality. Adam, before sinning, lived in the dimension of eternity, as death had not yet entered the world. Therefore, it is biblically imprecise to assert that Methuselah was the longest-lived man who ever existed, since Adam lived longer, although not under the condition of mortality. Adam cannot be considered the longest-lived because his existence was not subject to the limit of death. If we could analyze his body in that state of innocence, we would find an age that would be measured in millions of years, because death did not exist and sin had not yet robbed him of eternity.
Conclusion
In conclusion, dinosaurs were the first living beings that inhabited the earth, and their extinction was due to the entry of death into the world following Adam's sin. Methuselah's longevity, although impressive, cannot be compared to the eternity that Adam enjoyed before his fall.
